Rudy Jesse Ortiz, 30, passed away on July 31 in Sylmar, California. He was a beloved son, brother, uncle, friend, and cherished member of his family.

Rudy had a beautiful smile and an even more beautiful soul. He was loving, caring, goofy, silly, and carefree. He had a heart that was incredibly selfless, always caring about the people around him and often putting their happiness before his own.

Rudy loved his family deeply, especially his three sisters, Natalya, Tiffany, and Melissa. He loved his nephew so very much and cherished the bond they shared. He also had a special love for his animals, enjoyed playing board games and video games, loved spending time with his many friends, and loved God. The people, animals, faith, and activities he loved brought so much meaning and happiness to his life.

Rudy fought hard against all odds throughout his life. He always tried to be the best he could be. He wanted to experience life and feel like he was just like everybody else, but Rudy was special in a way that made him unlike anyone else. He had a uniqueness, a kindness, and a beautiful spirit that could never be duplicated.

Rudy rarely told anyone when he was hurting or in pain. He often kept his struggles to himself because he never wanted the people he loved to worry about him. Behind his carefree and silly personality was a young man who had fought through so much and continued to give love to others.

Rudy leaves behind his loving parents, Jose and Melissa Estrada; his three sisters, Natalya, Tiffany, and Melissa; his beloved nephew; his extended family; his animals; and the many friends who loved him dearly. Though he did not have a spouse or children of his own, Rudy was surrounded by people who loved him deeply and whose lives were forever changed by having him in them.

Rudy’s beautiful smile, beautiful soul, laughter, silliness, and loving heart will never be forgotten. His presence brought something special into this world that cannot be replaced.

He may no longer be here with us, but the love he gave, the memories he created, and the faith he held will remain forever.

Rudy, you fought against the odds and always tried to be the best you could be. You were never meant to be like everyone else—you were meant to be you. And there will never be another you.

You had a beautiful smile, a beautiful soul, and a heart that will forever live on in the people who loved you.
